The Holy Quran 2:276 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

يَمْحَقُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَيُرْبِى ٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِيمٍ

Translation

Allaah destroys interest (reduces its purchasing power and deprives it of blessings) and increases charity (by increasing its purchasing power and granting great rewards for it). Allaah does not like the ungrateful sinner (who does not thank Allaah for His bounties).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يذهب الله الربا كله أو يحرم صاحبه بركة ماله، فلا ينتفع به، وينمي الصدقات ويكثرها، ويضاعف الأجر للمتصدقين، ويبارك لهم في أموالهم. والله لا يحب كل مُصِرٍّ على كفره، مُسْتَحِلٍّ أكل الربا، متمادٍ في الإثم والحرام ومعاصي الله.
