The Holy Quran 2:254 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا بَيْعٌ فِيهِ وَلَا خُلَّةٌ وَلَا شَفَـٰعَةٌ ۗ وَٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

Translation

O you who have Imaan! Spend of that (wealth) which We have provided for you (for now is the time to act) before such a day (Qiyaamah) comes when there shall be no buying (ransoming of souls), no friendship and no intercession (without Allaah's permission). The Kaafiroon are indeed the oppressors.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا من آمنتم بالله وصدَّقتم رسوله وعملتم بهديه أخرجوا الزكاة المفروضة، وتصدَّقوا مما أعطاكم الله قبل مجيء يوم القيامة حين لا بيع فيكون ربح، ولا مال تفتدون به أنفسكم مِن عذاب الله، ولا صداقة صديق تُنقذكم، ولا شافع يملك تخفيف العذاب عنكم. والكافرون هم الظالمون المتجاوزون حدود الله.
