The Holy Quran 2:121 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يَتْلُونَهُۥ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ

Translation

Those to whom We have given the Book and who recite it as it rightfully should be (deserves to be) recited (as it was revealed) are the ones who believe in it (this verse refers to a group of Christians from Abyssinia who accepted Islaam at the hands of Rasulullaah). Whoever denies it (Allaah's Book by changing it) shall certainly be the losers (because they will suffer forever in Jahannam).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

الذين أعطيناهم الكتاب من اليهود والنصارى، يقرؤونه القراءة الصحيحة، ويتبعونه حق الاتباع، ويؤمنون بما جاء فيه من الإيمان برسل الله، ومنهم خاتمهم نبينا ورسولنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، ولا يحرفون ولا يبدِّلون ما جاء فيه.
