The Holy Quran 2:108 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

أَمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ رَسُولَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ ۗ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ

Translation

Or do you wish to ask your messenger (Muhammad to produce miracles) like how Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام was asked before (to make Allaah visible before the Jews)? The one who exchanges Imaan for kufr has certainly strayed from the straight path (from the path of truth). (Do not become doubtful because of the doubts that the Jews raise.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

بل أتريدون -أيها الناس- أن تطلبوا من رسولكم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم أشياء بقصد العناد والمكابرة، كما طُلِبَ مثل ذلك من موسى. علموا أن من يختر الكفر ويترك الإيمان فقد خرج عن صراط الله المستقيم إلى الجهل والضَّلال.
