The Holy Quran 29:21 — Surah Al-'Ankabut

Arabic text

يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ

Translation

Allaah punishes (torments) whoever He wills and has mercy on whoever He wills. To Him shall you be returned (after death).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يعذب مَن يشاء مِن خلقه على ما أسلف مِن جرمه في أيام حياته، ويرحم مَن يشاء منهم ممن تاب وآمن وعمل صالحًا، وإليه ترجعون، فيجازيكم بما عملتم.
