The Holy Quran 26:74 — Surah Ash-Shu'ara

Arabic text

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ

Translation

They replied, "But (we are doing this only because) we found our forefathers doing the same."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قالوا: لا يكون منهم شيء من ذلك، ولكننا وجدنا آباءنا يعبدونهم، فقلَّدناهم فيما كانوا يفعلون.
