The Holy Quran 26:202 — Surah Ash-Shu'ara

Arabic text

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Translation

It (the punishment) will come to them unexpectedly (suddenly), when they do not perceive it (without giving them a chance to accept Imaan).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فينزل بهم العذاب فجأة، وهم لا يعلمون قبل ذلك بمجيئه، فيقولون عند مفاجأتهم به تحسُّرًا على ما فاتهم من الإيمان: هل نحن مُمْهَلون مُؤخَّرون؛ لنتوب إلى الله مِن شركنا، ونستدرك ما فاتنا؟
