The Holy Quran 22:66 — Surah Al-Hajj

Arabic text

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحْيَاكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَكَفُورٌ

Translation

It is He Who gives you life, then gives you death, after which He will grant you life again (on the Day of Qiyaamah). Man (the Kuffaar) is surely an awful (ungrateful person) ingrate (He refuses to obey and worship Allaah even though Allaah has blessed him with all the bounties mentioned above and more).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وهو الله تعالى الذي أحياكم بأن أوجدكم من العدم، ثم يميتكم عند انقضاء أعماركم، ثم يحييكم بالبعث لمحاسبتكم على أعمالكم. إن الإنسان لَجحود لما ظهر من الآيات الدالة على قدرة الله ووحدانيته.
