The Holy Quran 22:28 — Surah Al-Hajj

Arabic text

لِّيَشْهَدُوا۟ مَنَـٰفِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ فِىٓ أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَـٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ ٱلْبَآئِسَ ٱلْفَقِيرَ

Translation

...to witness the things of benefit to them (which include material benefits such as benefiting from trade and the meat of sacrificed animals, as well as spiritual benefits such as spiritual enlightenment and rewards in the Aakhirah) and, during the stipulated days (of Hajj), to take Allaah's name on every animal that Allaah has provided for them (before they slaughter it). So eat from it (from the sacrificed animal) and feed it to the afflicted poor (because he will suffer in both).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وأعلِمْ- يا إبراهيم- الناس بوجوب الحج عليهم يأتوك على مختلف أحوالهم مشاةً وركبانًا على كل ضامر من الإبل، وهو: (الخفيف اللحم من السَّيْر والأعمال لا من الهُزال)، يأتين من كل طريق بعيد؛ ليحضروا منافع لهم من: مغفرة ذنوبهم، وثواب أداء نسكهم وطا��تهم، وتكَسُّبِهم في تجاراتهم، وغير ذلك؛ وليذكروا اسم الله على ذَبْح ما يتقربون به من الإبل والبقر والغنم في أيام…
