The Holy Quran 21:79 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

فَفَهَّمْنَـٰهَا سُلَيْمَـٰنَ ۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيْنَا حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَٱلطَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنَّا فَـٰعِلِينَ

Translation

We explained the decision (as mentioned above) to Sulaymaan and granted wisdom (understanding) and knowledge (keen sense of judgement) to both of them. We placed the mountains and birds at Dawood's service and they all engaged in Allaah's glorification (with him). We are the ones Who can do (Who can make such things possible).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فَفَهَّمنا سليمان مراعاة مصلحة الطرفين مع العدل، فحكم على صاحب الغنم بإصلاح الزرع التالف في فترة يستفيد فيها صاحب الزرع بمنافع الغنم من لبن وصوف ونحوهما، ثم تعود الغنم إلى صاحبها والزرع إلى صاحبه; لمساواة قيمة ما تلف من الزرع لمنفعة الغنم، وكلا من داود وسليمان أعطيناه حكمًا وعلمًا، ومننَّا على داود بتطويع الجبال تسبِّح معه إذا سبَّح، وكذلك الطير تسبِّح،…
