The Holy Quran 21:46 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ

Translation

Undoubtedly if (only) a (slight) puff of your Rabb's punishment has to afflict them, they will (be so distraught that they will) certainly say, “May destruction overtake us! We were oppressors (sinners) indeed!"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لو أصاب الكفارَ نصيب من عذاب الله لعلموا عاقبة تكذيبهم، وقابلوا ذلك بالدعاء على أنفسهم بالهلاك; بسبب ظلمهم لأنفسهم بعبادتهم غير الله.
