The Holy Quran 21:43 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ

Translation

Or do they have Aaliha that will protect (defend) them from Us? They (their Aaliha are so helpless that they) cannot even help themselves, nor will anyone align with them (to offer protection) against Us.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أَلَهُمْ آلهة تمنعهم من عذابنا؟ إنَّ آلهتهم لا يستطيعون أن ينصروا أنفسهم، فكيف ينصرون عابديهم؟ وهم منا لا يُجارون.
