The Holy Quran 21:26 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُّكْرَمُونَ

Translation

They (the Mushrikeen) say, "Ar Rahmaan has taken children (for Himself)." He is Pure (from needing children)! They (the angels whom they say are Allaah's children) are but honourable slaves (of Allaah and one's children can obviously not be one's slaves).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال المشركون: اتخذ الرحمن ولدًا بزعمهم أن الملائكة بنات الله. تنزَّه الله عن ذلك; فالملائكة عباد الله مقربون مخصصون بالفضائل، وهم في حسن طاعتهم لا يتكلمون إلا بما يأمرهم به ربهم، ولا يعملون عملا حتى يأذن لهم.
