The Holy Quran 21:24 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ ۖ هَـٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِىَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِى ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Translation

Or have they (the Mushrikeen) chosen other Aaliha (to worship) besides Him? Say, "Produce your evidence (to prove that these gods deserve to be worshipped)!" This (Qur'aan) is a reminder to those with me (reminding them that none but Allaah deserves to be worshipped), and a reminder to those before me (reminding them that the same reminder was given to them in the previous scriptures). But most of them do not know the truth (of Towheed), because of which they turn away (from it)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

هل اتخذ هؤلاء المشركون مِن غير الله آلهة تنفع وتضر وتحيي وتميت؟ قل - أيها الرسول - لهم: هاتوا ما لديكم من البرهان على ما اتخذتموه آلهة، فليس في القرآن الذي جئتُ به ولا في الكتب السابقة دليل على ما ذهبتم إليه، وما أشركوا إلا جهلا وتقليدًا، فهم معرضون عن الحق منكرون له.
