The Holy Quran 19:49 — Surah Maryam

Arabic text

فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا

Translation

When he (Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام) departed (withdrew) from them (and proceeded to live in Shaam) and from what they worshipped instead of Allaah, We gifted him with (a son) Is'haaq and (a grandson) Ya'qoob. We made each one of them a Nabi.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فلما فارقهم وآلهتهم التي يعبدونها من دون الله رزقناه من الولد: إسحاق، ويعقوب بن إسحاق، وجعلناهما نبيَّين.
