The Holy Quran 18:94 — Surah Al-Kahf

Arabic text

قَالُوا۟ يَـٰذَا ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ إِنَّ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَهَلْ نَجْعَلُ لَكَ خَرْجًا عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَجْعَلَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ سَدًّا

Translation

They (the people living there) submitted, “O Dhul Qarnain! The Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj spread corruption (carnage and robbery) on earth (and we desperately need protection against them), so is it possible that we collect some money for you (to pay you) so that you may erect a barrier between us and them?"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قالوا يا ذا القرنين: إنَّ يأجوج ومأجوج -وهما أمَّتان عظيمتان من بني آدم- مفسدون في الأرض بإهلاك الحرث والنسل، فهل نجعل لك أجرًا، ونجمع لك مالا على أن تجعل بيننا وبينهم حاجزًا يحول بيننا وبينهم؟
