The Holy Quran 18:34 — Surah Al-Kahf

Arabic text

وَكَانَ لَهُۥ ثَمَرٌ فَقَالَ لِصَـٰحِبِهِۦ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ أَنَا۠ أَكْثَرُ مِنكَ مَالًا وَأَعَزُّ نَفَرًا

Translation

He also had (an abundance) of fruit (other types of wealth). While speaking (boasting) to his companion (the Mu'min), he (the Kaafir) said, "I have more wealth than you and my people are dominant (my family and I are more respectable in society and have a larger following)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وكان لصاحب الحديقتين ثمر وأموال أخرى، فقال لصاحبه المؤمن، وهو يحاوره في الحديث -والغرور يملؤه-: أنا أكثر منك مالا وأعز أنصارًا وأعوانًا.
