The Holy Quran 17:99 — Surah Al-Isra

Arabic text

۞ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَهُمْ أَجَلًا لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ فَأَبَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ إِلَّا كُفُورًا

Translation

Do they not see that the same Allaah Who created the heavens and the earth is capable of creating the likes of them (who are much smaller than the heavens and earth)? He has appointed for them a term (their deaths and Qiyaamah) about which there is no doubt. The oppressors (Kuffaar) refuse to do anything but commit kufr (thereby continuously showing ingratitude to Allaah).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أَغَفَل هؤلاء المشركون، فلم يتبصروا ويعلموا أن الله الذي خلق السموات والأرض وما فيهن من المخلوقات على غير مثال سابق، قادر على أن يخلق أمثالهم بعد فنائهم؟ وقد جعل الله لهؤلاء المشركين وقتًا محددًا لموتهم وعذابهم، لا شك أنه آتيهم، ومع وضوح الحق ودلائله أبى الكافرون إلا جحودًا لدين الله عزَّ وجلَّ.
