The Holy Quran 17:5 — Surah Al-Isra

Arabic text

فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ أُولَىٰهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَّنَآ أُو۟لِى بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجَاسُوا۟ خِلَـٰلَ ٱلدِّيَارِ ۚ وَكَانَ وَعْدًا مَّفْعُولًا

Translation

"When the promise of the first of the two (periods of corruption) comes, (then as punishment for this) We will send against you such slaves of Ours (your enemies) who will be great warmongers, and they will barge into homes (killing and destroying whatever they can without any concern for you). This is a promise that will be fulfilled."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فإذا وقع منهم الإفساد الأول سَلَّطْنا عليهم عبادًا لنا ذوي شجاعة وقوة شديدة، يغلبونكم ويقتلونكم ويشردونكم، فطافوا بين ديارهم مفسدين، وكان ذلك وعدًا لا بدَّ مِن وقوعه؛ لوجود سببه منهم.
