The Holy Quran 17:45 — Surah Al-Isra

Arabic text

وَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ جَعَلْنَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حِجَابًا مَّسْتُورًا

Translation

When you (O Muhammad ﷺ) recite the Qur'aan, We place a veiling barrier between yourself and those who do not believe in the Aakhirah (so that they can cause you no harm).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإذا قرأت القرآن فسمعه هؤلاء المشركون، جعلنا بينك وبين الذين لا يؤمنون بالآخرة حجابًا ساترًا يحجب عقولهم عن فَهْمِ القرآن؛ عقابًا لهم على كفرهم وإنكارهم.
