The Holy Quran 16:12 — Surah An-Nahl

Arabic text

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

Translation

He placed the night and the day at your service (so that you may use each of them for your benefit), and the sun and the moon as well (each of which benefit mankind to a great extent). The stars are also kept in servitude by His command. Indeed there are Aayaat in this for people of understanding.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وسخَّر لكم الليل لراحتكم، والنهار لمعاشكم، وسخَّر لكم الشمس ضياء، والقمر نورًا ولمعرفة السنين والحساب، وغير ذلك من المنافع، والنجوم في السماء مذللات لكم بأمر الله لمعرفة الأوقات، ونضج الثمار والزروع، والاهتداء بها في الظلمات. إن في ذلك التسخير لَدلائلَ واضحةً لقوم سيعقلون عن الله حججه وبراهينه.
