The Holy Quran 15:74 — Surah Al-Hijr

Arabic text

فَجَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

Translation

(Thereafter,) We turned them upside down (Jibra'eel عليه الصلاة والسلام lifted their towns into the sky and then dropped them upside down) and showered clay pebbles on them (each pebble was marked with the name of the person it was meant to strike).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فقلبنا قُراهم فجعلنا عاليها سافلها، وأمطرنا عليهم حجارة من طين متصلب متين.
