The Holy Quran 15:4 — Surah Al-Hijr

Arabic text

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ

Translation

There was an appointed term (fixed) for (the destruction of) every town that We destroyed (from which they have no escape).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإذا طلبوا نزول العذاب بهم تكذيبًا لك -أيها الرسول- فإنا لا نُهْلك قرية إلا ولإهلاكها أجل مقدَّر، لا نُهْلكهم حتى يبلغوه، مثل مَن سبقهم.
