The Holy Quran 12:46 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

يُوسُفُ أَيُّهَا ٱلصِّدِّيقُ أَفْتِنَا فِى سَبْعِ بَقَرَٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَسَبْعِ سُنۢبُلَـٰتٍ خُضْرٍ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَـٰتٍ لَّعَلِّىٓ أَرْجِعُ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Translation

(Arriving at the prison, the person said) "O Yusuf! O most truthful! Inform us about seven fat cows being eaten by seven thin cows and seven green ears of corn and others that are dry, so that I may return to the people and they can be enlightened (about the meaning of this dream)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وعندما وصل الرجل إلى يوسف قال له: يوسف أيها الصديق فسِّر لنا رؤيا مَن رأى سبع بقرات سمان يأكلهن سبع بقرات هزيلات، ورأى سبع سنبلات خضر وأخر يابسات; لعلي أرجع إلى الملك وأصحابه فأخبرهم; ليعلموا تأويل ما سألتك عنه، وليعلموا مكانتك وفضلك.
