The Holy Quran 12:11 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

قَالُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأْمَ۫نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَـٰصِحُونَ

Translation

(Knowing that their father did not trust them alone with Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام) They said, "O our Father! What is the matter with you that you do not trust us (at all) with Yusuf whereas we are his well-wishers?"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال إخوة يوسف -بعد اتفاقهم على إبعاده-: يا أبانا ما لك لا تجعلنا أمناء على يوسف مع أنه أخونا، ونحن نريد له الخير ونشفق عليه ونرعاه، ونخصه بخالص النصح؟
