The Holy Quran 11:107 — Surah Hud

Arabic text

خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ

Translation

They will live there forever as long as the skies and the earth exist (until eternity), except as your Rabb wills (if Allaah wills that the period be shortened, He may shorten it for whom He wills. However, Allaah will not will that a Kaafir should emerge from Jahannam because eternal punishment has been promised for him). Undoubtedly your Rabb can perfectly accomplish whatever He wills.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فأما الذين شَقُوا في الدنيا لفساد عقيدتهم وسوء أعمالهم، فالنار مستقرهم، لهم فيها من شدة ما هم فيه من العذاب زفير وشهيق، وهما أشنع الأصوات وأقبحها، ماكثين في النار أبدًا ما دامت السموات والأرض، فلا ينقطع عذابهم ولا ينتهي، بل هو دائم مؤكَّد، إلا ما شاء ربك من إخراج عصاة الموحدين بعد مدَّة من مكثهم في النار. إن ربك -أيها الرسول- فعَّال لما يريد.
