The Holy Quran 10:2 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

أَكَانَ لِلنَّاسِ عَجَبًا أَنْ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَنْ أَنذِرِ ٱلنَّاسَ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ قَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ مُّبِينٌ

Translation

Are people surprised that We sent revelation to a man (Rasulullaah) from among them (commanding him) that, "Warn people (about the evil consequences of kufr) and give good news to the Mu'mineen that there shall surely be a great position for them near their Rabb (in Jannah)"? The Kaafiroon (unable to offer a reasonable explanation) say, "Indeed this (Rasulullaah) is obviously a magician."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أكان أمرًا عجبًا للناس إنزالنا الوحي بالقرآن على رجل منهم ينذرهم عقاب الله، ويبشِّر الذين آمنوا بالله ورسله أن لهم أجرًا حسنًا بما قدَّموا من صالح الأعمال؟ فلما أتاهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بوحي الله وتلاه عليهم، قال المنكرون: إنَّ محمدًا ساحر، وما جاء به سحر ظاهر البطلان.
